Lusting for Justice and Learning Mercy (The Challenge for All of Us Concerning the Case of Jack Schaap

Last week, Jack Schaap, the former pastor of one of the largest churches in the United States accepted a plea bargain of guilt, claiming that it will be the best course of action for his family. It will spare all involved the grueling process of exposure and embarrassment that a claim of innocence would require in court. A survivor astutely pointed out last week that it was ironic that Schaap who has so often commented that he would never accept theological advice from a woman accepted the plea offered to him by two female U.S. Attorneys.
